(Dave's internship with Aloe Mind ends on 22 March 2027)
Dave is a Clinical Psychology trainee with experience working with children and adults in clinical and assessment settings. Through his training and practicum experiences, he has worked with clients presenting with concerns including ADHD, learning difficulties, anxiety, stress, interpersonal difficulties, and self-development. He is also particularly interested in supporting LGBTQ+ individuals, given the marginalisation and unique psychosocial challenges that they may experience in Malaysia.
His clinical interests include helping individuals better understand themselves, develop practical ways of coping with difficulties, and move towards a more meaningful and fulfilling life. He is particularly drawn to approaches such as Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, while continuing to develop his skills through supervision and clinical experience. At the core of his work is a belief in creating a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and supported in working towards their own goals and personal growth.
Dave is dedicated to helping clients grow closer to their ideal selves through providing a safe and collaborative environment for growth and learning.
In his free time, Dave enjoys playing video games, karaoke, watching movies and hitting the gym.
