Get to know Yian Ling
Yian Ling is a counsellor who works with adults, young individuals, and couples, supporting those navigating depression, self-harm, emotional overwhelm, relational difficulties, and questions around identity and self-understanding. She is especially drawn to working with clients who often feel misunderstood or “too much,” and who are trying to make sense of their inner experiences and patterns in relationships.
Her work is grounded in a relational and integrative approach, drawing from person-centred and psychodynamic perspectives, while remaining attentive to each client’s pace and needs. She has experience working across both clinical and organisational settings, including delivering talks, workshops and wellbeing programmes for organisations such as Bursa Malaysia and Selangor Dredging Berhad, as well as educational institutions like TAR UMT and HELP University.
Yian Ling values creating a space where clients feel safe enough to be honest, even about the parts of themselves that are difficult to hold. She believes that meaningful change begins with being deeply seen and understood, and is committed to walking alongside her clients with curiosity, respect, and care.
She works with clients through a relational and reflective approach, supporting them to explore their inner experiences, personal history, and relationship patterns in a way that feels safe and meaningful. She helps clients gently make sense of different parts of themselves, especially those that may feel conflicted or hard to understand, while also noticing how past and present relationships shape the way they experience life. Her work is grounded in curiosity and presence, with the aim of helping clients deepen self-understanding, connect more authentically with themselves, and move toward a more integrated sense of well-being.
Yian Ling enjoys slow, grounding routines in her free time, from brewing her morning coffee to baking sourdough and fermenting kombucha. She also finds quiet joy in simple moments like people-watching and taking slow walks after the rain, and enjoys building miniature houses and LEGO.
