Get to know Pearl Li
As a clinical psychologist that has experienced her share of challenges, Pearl is deeply curious towards the unique stories that make up each individual, and passionate about helping people come closer to who they’d like to be.
Pearl’s past experience in a government hospital and private settings has enabled her to work well with people from diverse ages and walks of life. In this process, she has collaborated with people facing various psychological conditions, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, eating disorders, personality disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, ADHD, self-harm, and addictions. She also offers support on day-to-day challenges such as stress, grief, anger, body image, self-esteem, and relationships.
She adopts a nuanced approach drawing from cognitive-behavioural, acceptance, and mindfulness-based therapies (CBT, ACT, DBT), placing emphasis on whether it fits the client’s needs. Her therapy style is rooted in warmth and empathy, where sometimes she is lucky to share a laugh together with her clients. She finds that this kind of environment best fosters trust and safety, allowing them to jointly navigate practical tools to move forward. Pearl believes that the client holds the greatest insight into their story, and her role as a supporting pillar is to meet them where they are.
Pearl spends her free time defying gravity on plastic rocks.
